“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” ~ Desmond Tutu
Be The Light
Many of us are feeling overwhelmed by world events and the seeming darkness that is trying to invade our lives. But maybe we can shift our awareness to embrace our inner light and become a beacon of hope and consciousness for ourselves and others. Together we can awaken and discover our authentic self, live our truth, elevate to love consciousness and illuminate the path for others to discover their light.
We will be using the Tibetan practice of Tonglen – where we breathe in the suffering of ourselves and the world and transform it on the out breath into recognition, compassion and light to all beings everywhere. The Dalai Lama uses this practice every day.
The practice of Tonglen or Giving and Receiving is done to develop our compassion and our ability to be present for our own suffering and the suffering of others. It is also a practice of great kindness that opens up our whole being to the overwhelming presence of suffering and our strength and willingness to transform alienation into compassion through the energy of mercy and the cultivation of openness
