I always find that when I’m visiting new places I am fascinated by what they’ve taken the liberty to collect. Sometimes it’s seashells, sometimes driftwood, sometimes enormous pine cones, sometimes it’s books.
At this retreat in Yelapa I found some beautifully hand painted beads. I couldn’t believe the colours and character and soul each one of them had. I could practically feel the humans that had touched each of them before.
I think this is a beautiful way to make a home feel.. homey. I think this is also a place to remind oneself of memories, to help us return to that place we have once enjoyed so much.
It’s important to have these micro celebrations for ourselves.
