Kindness is something precious. It is a quality that has the ability to shine through someone without speaking.
As life gets busier, many people tend to focus inward and unintentionally forget about the people around them. I am not talking about friends and family, I am talking about the people you don’t know walking by you on the street, sitting beside you in a coffee shop, or standing behind you in a grocery line.
This is very normal, we all do it, myself included. Our intentions can guide us through the day and the intention that we focus on the most will be guided with our own individual actions and awareness.
Keeping this in mind, let us start something together.
Let us refocus our intentions into letting our kindness shine more often. It can be as simple as making eye contact in the street and smiling, complementing a stranger, or paying the coffee of the driver behind you in the drive through lineup. These small gestures are possible to do no matter where we live or how busy we are. I promise you that they will take notice and they might just pay it forward.
It might not change the world right away, but it is sure a start.
There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophies. My brain and my heart are my temples; my philosophy is kindness.” ~ Dalai Lama
