Happy Sunday! I usually don’t visit your inbox on the weekend, but tonight is a very special cosmic event that I don’t want you to miss. This evening, at 9:16 PST we will enjoy a total lunar eclipse with the full moon in Leo – the galactic guardian of creativity. Are you ready to roar??!!
Leo, the lion empowers you to bring witness to the passion within. The archetypal energy present during this cosmic event is that of the King/Queen/Leader, and in this role we are called to find our lion courage, to lead from the heart and transcend our fears and perceptions of smallness. This guides us to greater personal power through self-awareness.
They key to finding our lion-heart is to embrace our inner light and express ourselves creatively. This can look different for everyone – whether it is dance, writing, art or something else that makes your heart sing. Drop in fully to your own personal expression of creativity over the next few days. And maybe even take it to the next level – do you dare to be visible? Share your creation with someone new (or send it my way) and bask in the feedback and appreciation. Leo loves to be the centre of attention – so soak it all in. Feels good doesn’t it?
Following and syncing ourselves to the moon cycles and their unique energy is a powerful way you can give yourself more permission to also connect with your Shakti energy, the creative force of the divine feminine. And this isn’t just for women, men also benefit from connecting to the feminine within. As we all have both masculine and feminine energies inside ourselves, celebrating and embodying the parts that are more hidden helps bring greater balance into all parts of our lives.
So I hope that tonight you go outside and dance under the eclipse – I know I will be!
Happy 2019!! 2019 is a number 3 year in numerology, promising abundant creativity, self-expression, and alignment. Three is one of the most sacred of numbers, which we connect to in all aspects of our existence – we are the third planet from the Sun, we live in a 3 dimensional reality, all stories have a beginning, middle, and end, and every being is comprised of a mind, body, and soul.
As we begin this year of 3 energy, I offer you my greatest prayers that you be surrounded by people who love & honour you.
That you are feeling the full worthiness of all you desire and deserve.
That you are able to draw upon an unlimited supply of magic in your life when you need it most.
That you feel full in trust, faith and knowing.
And that you know much I appreciate you. Thank you for allowing me the space in your inbox each and every week to share my story, my words, my offerings and intentions for you – and with you. I look forward to creating an epic year together.
Wishing you the most beautiful New Years Transition.
Following and syncing ourselves to the moon cycles through ritual and sacred ceremony is a way you can give yourself more permission to also connect with your Shakti energy, the creative force of the divine feminine.
Creating ceremonies in alignment with moon cycles is one of the ways I acknowledge and honour that my spiritual being is having a human experience. As I’ve followed the moon cycles, I’ve also noticed a greater understanding and love towards my emotional processes, triggers, and lessons. I’d love for you to have that same experience.
For this coming Full Moon in Taurus on Wednesday Oct 24th, allow yourself to connect to the earthy energy of this moon through engaging ALL of your senses. Taurus is a Venus-ruled sign, and with this planet currently in retro-grade, you might find yourself in need of some extra TLC. I’ve got some great suggestions for you.
FULL MOON IN TAURUS EMBODIMENT CELEBRATION
With the Sun in Scorpio opposite Moon in Taurus, there is a solid need to be grounded in the practical and material realities of life. Celebrate this Full Moon by savouring the capacity of your body to drop into all of it’s senses. Over the day and evening tomorrow try at least 2 of the following practices:
- Walking barefoot on the earth
- Cooking a comfort meal from scratch and savouring each bite
- Put on your favourite classical piece of music, close your eyes and luxuriate in the sounds
- Delighting your body with a sensuous rose petal bath with your favourite essential oils
- Enjoy 20 connected, circular breaths
- Some good ol’ fashioned loving
I encourage you to make these practices real celebrations. The mundane can always be sacred if we infuse our actions with reverence and intention. Notice how the experience shifts and deepens when you are fully present.
If you appreciate these rituals, you are going to LOVE the guidance and rituals in the upcoming Embracing Shakti Movement: Free 13 Day Journey of Embracing and Celebrating Shakti! It’s almost ready to be birthed and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. Stay tuned for how you can join this intimate journey with me.
love & pranams,
Moon rituals are an ancient and sacred practice that have been celebrated for millennia in India, China, Babylonia, and Egypt where moon worship was an integral part of the culture. The ancients observed that the phases of the moon influenced the growth of plants, the tides and the behaviour of animals and human life. Savouring moonlight throughout the month was seen as both a sacred and necessary part of the cycle of life.
Our modern world tends to be dismissive of the power and effect of the moon, but many still realize and celebrate the internal and psychic connection of this cosmic body in our lives. A moon ritual enjoyed today has just as much sacredness as in years past and brings a beautifully ancient and quiet practice into our never-stop contemporary world.
One complete cycle of the moon takes exactly 28 days to complete, ebbing and flowing just as our menstrual cycles do. Rituals related to the moon invite us to go inward and get quiet, free from distractions. We have the opportunity to be one with the energy of our environment and mindfully plant seeds of intention.
When you begin syncing your ritual and manifestation practices with the moon, you are aligning your energy to the potent energies already existing around you, magnifying your abilities to attract what you desire and release what you don’t.
OVERVIEW OF THE MOON CYCLES
New Moon: A New Moon happens when the sun (yang energy) aligns, or conjoins, with the moon (yin essence). This is a time to get still, breathe new life into areas that might be stuck and invite new intentions. This new cycle of energy heralds fresh opportunities, visions and dreams.
Waxing Moon: The moon is growing, which also signifies the growing of your intentions. Be open to continued inspiration, guidance, and vision to result in direct action of your dreams. My advice is to focus on one intention and spend time visualizing and creating space for manifestation daily.
Full Moon: The moon is now in her full feminine splendor. This is the culmination of power, peak creative energy and incredibly powerful intuitive breakthroughs. It is the time to celebrate embodiment and what has come to fruition. At the Full Moon, the energy is potent, all consuming and and intense. This energy gives you the impulse to take action, especially regarding the intentions you set during the New Moon. This can also be a powerful time to release emotions, beliefs, people, experiences from your life, or anything you have outgrown.
Waning Moon: As the light disseminates, we begin to draw ourselves back in. We can reflect on the past lunar cycle – what happened, what we have learned and what lessons we can bring forward. Re-read your intention and evaluate how you have changed since it was written. Consider how you want to move forward during the next lunar cycle.
On August 26th we will welcome the Full Moon. And I’ll be sharing more in my next email on a special ritual you can weave into your Full Moon practice.
love & pranams,
Throughout history women have come together to celebrate the sacred feminine and to support one another – during times of menstruation, to share in child care, to support birth, to cook together and to share experiences, stories, thoughts, ideas and prayers. These circles were nurturing, connective environments where there would always be a sister to lean on in times of need and a sister to dance with in times of celebration. The simple act of gathering to support one another became a potent ritual – transforming the mundane into sacred and connecting deeply with the feminine.
The advent of industrialization and an increasing emphasis on individualization in our more recent history led to a loss of these gatherings, and the wisdom that was passed down from generation to generation. Fortunately women across the globe are feeling drawn once again to come together and create circle, ritual and community.
If you are feeling called to experience the ancient art of circling and the power of the feminine, I invite you to join me and a sisterhood of likeminded women this September for a 3 day Embracing Shakti Retreat at Camp Friendship just outside of Prince George, September 13-16, 2018. I have been leading these retreats for more than 7 years and they are always one of the highlights of my year. Here is just some of what we will enjoy:
- An opportunity to step into community and loving self care. And to get away from the busy-ness of regular life.
- Yoga & Breathwork practices to dive deep into the inner landscape of our bodies
- Tantric practices that help us open into juicy sensuality and get turned ON by life!
- Learning about lunar cycles and how we can attune into natural rhythms
- Ceremony and Sacred Ritual
- Deep nourishment with gourmet vegetarian meals prepared by chef Rebekah Smiley
- Abundant time to relax and explore the surrounding wilderness
If there is something in you wanting more, asking to be heard and realized, I encourage you to heed the call and seek that which you desire. There are just 4 spaces left for this retreat and early pricing of $625+gst ends on the New Moon August 11th. Full price is $700+gst.
Curious, interested or want to know more about how to make this retreat a reality? Drop me a note anytime.

love & pranams,
Today, May 1st, is Beltane – an ancient Celtic Festival celebrating May Day. Beltane represents the peak of Spring and the visioning of Summer, where Gaia’s energies are at their strongest and most active.
Abundance, sexuality, and fertility are all robust themes visible around us everywhere – in nature and the physical world, and also in our energetic realities. We can palpably feel the potency of Spring nourishing the seeds of our dreams with the waters of life.
Beltane is also a time to honour life’s oldest love story ~ that between the God and the Goddess.
Beltane is a Celtic word which means ‘fires of Bel’ (Bel was a Celtic deity). Bel, who was born at the Winter Solstice, achieves the strength and maturity to court and become lover to the Goddess. Their divine union is consummated with her becoming pregnant, a representation of her abundant fertility. Today is a day to celebrate the divinity of our sexual nature and our capacity to grow that which we most desire.
During the Winter months we often feel that our desires are lost in the void and darkness of the season. But really they were simply hibernating and gestating, waiting for the conditions to become ripe for their full blossom.
Now that we are in the height of Spring, it is time to begin revelling in the energies of your blossoming visions, so you can ride these naturally present and pulsing waves of energy. This is the wisdom of harnessing life’s natural rhythms and cycles.
I’d love to share a special Beltane Yoga ritual with you for supporting your desires during the height of this season of growth. This is a most opportune time to bring forth the ideas, hopes and dreams you’ve been nurturing into action.
This ritual is to honour the divinity of your sensual nature and your ability to take the seed of your dreams and germinate them into life.
Refresh your altar with vibrant hues and rich fabrics, spring flowers and coloured ribbons. Set alight a pair of candles in Green or Gold. Dress in something that makes you feel really fabulous and sit in meditation.
Ask your higher self, “What would it look like for the garden of my dreams to burst into life and become fully blossomed? What would the texture of my life feel like with all of my current desires being met, manifested and even exceeded?”
Be patient and listen. Upon receiving your messages, write them in your journal.
To further enhance the embodiment of this vision, you can plant some seeds in little pots to sit on your altar. Give each pot the name of a specific desire or dream, and as you water and watch them come to life, you know that your dream is being made manifest in the physical realm as well.
Finally, if you can, light a fire outside tonight and enjoy some food and wine with friends and family. Sing, dance and revel in the Spring air. Happy Beltane!
