Full Moon in Pisces Crystal Ritual

Full Moon in Pisces Crystal Ritual

Tonight we will experience a Full Moon in Pisces. The Dakota Sioux people call this the “moon when all things ripen”.
As the last sign on the zodiac wheel, Pisces is about endings and transitions. It’s time to surrender, symbolically wave the white flag, and accept the things we cannot change. As Pisces is also a dual sign, it means we will experience some of life’s paradoxs, like being a Spirit being in this very human and physical world.
When the full moon arrives, it’s time to create space to take stock of what has and has yet come to fruition. A full moon ritual is a time to get quiet, reflect, and celebrate. Unlike the new moon, the full moon represents fruitfulness and completeness and brings with it a lot of energy.
I’ll be celebrating tonight and you might want to as well. Here’s a Full Moon Ritual you can use to ground your heightened states, revel in your successes and strongly release that which is no longer serving you.
PISCES FULL MOON RITUAL
What you’ll need:

  • Candles
  • Altar Space
  • Pen & Paper
  • Smudge: palo santo, sage, ceremonial tobacco
  • Crystal or semi-precious stone (one you feel comfortable releasing)
  • Water in a bowl, if inspired, throw in a few flowers

Cleanse yourself, your altar/space, and chosen crystal with sage, palo santo, or ceremonial tobacco along with lighting candles and incense. Have your paper and pen ready to write. If there is a prayer or chant that you would like to use, have it available to recite.
On a piece of paper, acknowledge all of the blessings that have manifested in your reality since the New Moon or even in the past month. Muse about the amazing opportunities, love, experiences, and people you are grateful for.
Next, take your crystal and while holding it, allow everything you are ready to release from your life currently (such as old negative beliefs, people, or experiences) to be absorbed into the crystal.
Once finished, take this crystal outside and giving the energy and thanks to Mama Gaia, bury the crystal in the ground and ask Gaia to take this energy you no longer need from your life. Ruled by Neptune, god of the seas, Pisces is the zodiac’s mermaid as it is ruled by Neptune, god of the seas. Wash your hands and feet in the bowl of water. Or even pour the water over your head and allow yourself to be completely cleansed.
Release any expectations and place your trust in your moon magic ritual that your invocations have been heard.

Roaring Like a Lion

Roaring Like a Lion

Some of us are lions. Some, bears. Some, giraffes. And some more are cats.
What animal does your spirit speak to?
It may not even be an animal. Maybe it’s a galactic region? Maybe it’s a amphibian? Perhaps even it’s a colour.
The amazing thing is that each of us humans associate with different things, have different views. We each have different callings and different ways to express ourselves.
The important thing is that we each do our symbolic roaring to release that inner self into the world.
Next time I see you, feel free to roar at me and make me wonder what the heck is up!
How I am Honoring Indigenous Sisters and Brothers

How I am Honoring Indigenous Sisters and Brothers

Today is National Indigenous People’s Day. As a white settler of European descent living with incredible gratitude in the beautiful traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, I am making the following commitments:

  • to better educate myself about the history, the legacy, and the generations of damage done by colonization and systemic racism to Indigenous peoples in this country
  • to become more aware of and acknowledge my settler privilege in Canada and how this continues to affect Indigenous people in both large and small ways
  • to be an ally and to wholeheartedly listen
  • to follow the advice of National Chief Perry Bellegarde that every Canadian should “create space” for Indigenous Canadians by “opening their hearts, their minds and their spirits
  • to use my platform as a teacher to promote healing, respect and connection
  • to educate my children so they can do better than my generation
  • to cultivate a greater number of meaningful, trusting and respectful relationships
  • to regularly donate to charities and organizations that help Indigenous communities in Canada

Dr. Robert Joseph says “At the heart of reconciliation is love.” I couldn’t agree more. If authentic and meaningful reconciliation is important to you, and I very much hope that it is, what will you commit to today? If you are looking for some inspiration – check out this incredible list. I’d love to hear from you.

Connect with your Shakti Energy

Connect with your Shakti Energy

Shakti is divine cosmic energy representing the dynamic feminine force of creation that moves through the universe. It is a powerful current that can move mountains, bask in deep stillness and rejuvenate your Spirit ~ yet so many women are disconnected from the vital energy of Shakti in their lives.
Why?
For more than 5,000 years the expression of the divine feminine has been both feared and suppressed. And while in the 21st century many women are living a life radically different from generations past, in many ways we are simply card carrying citizens in a masculine world. We are driven, competitive and adept at multi-tasking and muscling through life. The result is that we are tired, overwhelmed, passion-deprived, devoid of creative energy and completely disconnected to our vital, feminine energy. We are conditioned to fit into a small definition of what it means to be feminine and to ignore the many forms of Shakti that embody the whole of the feminine experience. Often we feel obligated to reject the parts of us that society deems not ‘nice’, ‘passive’, ‘feminine’ or ‘womanly’.
Being in alignment with your Shakti power gives you permission to embrace all of the feminine, including some of the shadow aspects like the ‘dark goddess’, fierce warrior’, ‘goddess of pleasure’, ‘mystic’ and ‘goddess of destruction’. These are just some of the many facets of Shakti that are necessary to embody the full spectrum of feminine power.
This is your birthright
It is your reclamation
It is necessary in these times
How can I start to connect into this energy inside me? First we need to get things moving in our bodies. Let me share with you an easy practice to begin to connect to your Shakti:
Shakti energy sits coiled in our root and sacral chakras, so consciously connecting with this energy can support the opening and flow of her up your spine. Any rolling, sensuous, fluid movements like standing circles or cat/cow can begin flowing this Shakti energy throughout your body.
Put on some juicy music that you love moving your body to. On your mat, begin slowing moving your spine in cat/cow, and focusing on the easeful flow of your inhale/exhale. Allow the movements to become freer and more sensual. Let your spine and pelvis move organically in a way that really feels good. Let your breath be expansive and luxurious – you can sigh out the breath audibly to invite more flow.
Focus your attention on the space below your navel, and feel the energy uncoil. You may experience a tingling, buzzing sensation in the body or something entirely different. Your experience of Shakti will be unique to you. Allow yourself to feel the energy expand, move and flow up your spine. Keep breathing and enjoy.
So simple, so effective. I’d love to know how this experience with Shakti was for you, just hit reply and tell me all about it!

International Women's Day

International Women's Day

She’s coming into her power…
She spent years not realizing who she was.
She doubted her beauty, her intelligence and her power.
She was one who always felt that she didn’t quite belong
because when she came into this life, her ties to the world of spirit remained far too strong..
She was confused and lost throughout her youth, unable to see herself much less accept and appreciate herself.
As a result she was like a ship bobbing in the ocean without a rudder and without the sails of confidence to direct her towards her own promised land.
She was one who bereft of her own acceptance, hungered for it and searched for it through relationships with others.
She was a people pleaser as a result,
she would not risk confrontation in order to support herself,
she succumbed to being influenced by the opinions of others even though she had already received her instruction from within.
She allowed her truth to be sublimated,
she allowed herself to be controlled…
Her need to be accepted and loved was such that she wasn’t prepared to step on or over any toes.
It took her years of being taken for granted,
ruled and overlooked before she put two and two together,
had enough and got the message.
Her suffering forced her to step out of the status quo that had always been too tight for her in the first place…
she became an avid seeker, searching for answers…
She needed to know who she was, she needed to know why she was here.
She needed to find a way to free herself from fear
She travelled far and wide,
She sat at the feet of a master,
She became a Yogini of an ancient lineage
and applied the teachings to her life,
She grew strong,
She awakened her heart
She awakened her shakti,
Her third eye opened as a result…
Her potentials started to be unearthed rapidly because the veils had parted and she recognized who she was,
She also recognized who everyone else was behind their socialized facade
and because she had seen through the myth of idealized perfection,
she could appreciate the actual perfection of the imperfections in herself and in others that she had once resisted and rejected.
Today she walks with conscious awareness..
she no longer labels people as good or bad,
She interprets everything as fluctuating energy without a fixed assignment.
She holds space for the confusion of others because she’s been there and she still visits that place herself
she understands their hunger for love misappropriated as selfishness, jealousy and competition…
She feels their vulnerability as she feels her own…
She knows the fear reflected in their eyes through her own past terror…
But underneath all of it she can see the obscured light,
the presence of God/dess despite all the protective armor…
She’s aware of this same divine presence vibrating in her body and in her heart…
She’s not so quick to cast judgment anymore because she knows that she is not above those that she is tempted to judge…
she knows that she is not separate
And because she gives herself permission to be herself as she is,
she can accept others as they are with appreciation and compassion …
She’s not invested in changing anyone either,
she respects everyone’s chosen path because
she understands that every soul is doing exactly what they need to do in order to evolve
So it is not her place to save anyone from their own lessons…
She reveals, heals, inspires and encourages instead,
she reminds others of their forgotten divinity…
She holds up a mirror so that they can see God/dess reflected back…
She has become a midwife for the re-emergence of the Divine Feminine soul.
The shy, timid maiden has transformed into the courageous, outspoken mother of all…
She says it as she sees it confidently without shrinking back,
She’s fiercely protective of the helpless,
She’s A torch for those lost in darkness,
and she’s not afraid to take a stand for peace and love to flourish in this world…
if someone tries to persuade her against her own knowing she simply and graciously responds, “Thank you for sharing.”
and she walks away…
Because she trusts her “self”,
She knows that she is Divine Mother embodied..
She is Artemis of the wild merged with…
compassionate tara and warrior Durga…
She has traversed the journey of Inanna into the dark underworld and emerged in possession of her kingdom
She knows why she is here and she’s fulfilling her purpose..
She’s not alone, she’s among many
who have chosen to return bearing love as their message,
their path and their gift of healing. ॐ

May you all know and be fully embodied in your power.
